Property briefs: GVA, Colliers International, Wood Street Mission

LLOYDS Banking Group is the latest tenant to take a unit at Stockport’s Merseyway shopping centre.

The bank will occupy the two-floor 6,318 sq ft unit and is due to open for business in March 2013 when it relocates from another site in the town.

Vacant space at the 104-unit centre is currently at 2%, or 7,600 sq ft out of a total of 380,000 sq ft.  

Mark Rawstron, senior director of property agent GVA and managing agent of Merseyway said: “It’s encouraging to see yet another national tenant take up a lease at Merseyway.

“Following what has been such a positive year and our best ever Christmas Light switch on event at the centre, we’ve got high hopes for 2013. The entire team at Merseyway, from management right through to shop floor assistants, are doing a great job at keeping Stockport’s premier shopping destination a huge success.”

Manchester’s first dedicated Hot Yoga and Pilates centre is opening at Deansgate Mews.

Yoga Lounge has sub-let a 4,386 sq ft suite on the first and second floors of the Grade II-listed building beside the Great Northern Warehouse, adjacent to the Hilton Deansgate hotel.

Rob Prescott of the offices national team at the Manchester office of Colliers International secured the letting on behalf of client Anglian Water Group (AWG) and landlord Capital & Regional, owner of the Great Northern Warehouse.

STAFF at GVA in Manchester have raised £500 for Manchester-based anti-poverty charity Wood Street Mission as part of its Christmas appeal.
 
Founded in 1869, Manchester-based Wood Street Mission helps families across Greater Manchester by providing everyday essentials such as clothing and food.

It has been supported on its various projects by GVA throughout 2012 including: a school uniform appeal, children’s book appeal and fundraising throughout the year.

Mark Rawstron, head of the Manchester office, said: “Approaching its 150th year, Wood Street Mission provides a wonderful service for families across Greater Manchester. Everyone at GVA has really got behind the charity to support it at a time when more and more families are turning to the third sector for help, with the team’s donations helping to continue Wood Street Mission’s valuable work.”
