St Helens shopping centre owner in administration

A PROPERTY fund that owns the main shopping centre in St Helens has gone into administration.
Grant Thornton was appointed to the CBRE Britannica St Helens fund, which owns Church Square, earlier this week after breaching debt covenants.
The centre has around 70 shops including Boots, BHS, Superdrug and Rymans.
It is a sub-fund of the Britannica fund, managed by CBRE Global Investors, that fell into administration in September.
It owns seven shopping centres including The Strand in Bootle and Spindles Town Square in Oldham.
Joint administrator Malcolm Shierson said all the shopping centres are continuing to trade and will be marketed for sale later in the year.
