BARDSLEY Construction has started work on a £13.2m contract to build 78 houses and a care home in Salford for City West Housing Trust.
Dukinfield-based Bardsley was appointed by City West to design and build the properties on a 13.2-acre brownfield site at Amblecote Drive, Little Hulton.
The scheme, designed by Liverpool-based DK Architects, is due for completion in June 2014.
Bardsley’s managing director Paul Strutt, said: “The award of this contract shows we continue to benefit from our reputation for work for the public sector with an emphasis on partnerships with clients including local authorities, education bodies, housing associations and health authorities.”
Colette McKune, deputy chief executive of City West, said: “Amblecote is our first major development project and we are delighted to be working with Bardsley to provide much needed housing in West Salford and help to regenerate the Little Hulton area.”
