Appointments: HSBC, Zeus, MEPC Birchwood Park

HSBC has appointed Tony Fulton to the role of area commercial director for Cheshire and North Staffordshire.

He will split his time between HSBC’s commercial centres in Stoke and Chester and will focus on supporting businesses with a turnover between £2m-£30m.

Fulton has spent 35 years in banking, the majority of which have been in commercial  banking around the North West and North Staffordshire regions.

He spent most of his career with Barclays and has also had spells with Santander and Yorkshire Bank.

The Cheshire and North Staffordshire commercial team consists of 10 commercial managers,  four of whom are focused on  supporting customers that trade, or plan to trade, internationally.

He said: “I’m delighted to join HSBC. Cheshire and North Staffordshire are key  geographical areas for HSBC and we have been expanding our team over the past year to meet the needs of businesses in the region.”

ZEUS Capital, the Manchester-based corporate finance and broking firm, has appointed a chairman and two joint chief exeuctives.

Stuart Lane is taking on the chairmanship while Tim Metcalfe and John Goold will be chief executives.

Stuart Lane and Tim Metcalfe will join from Northland Capital where they were chairman and managing director respectively. John Goold has been promoted from head of equities having joined Zeus Capital in June 2012.

I believe we are now very well positioned in our market to give the highest quality advice to smaller–mid market companies whilst importantly adding value to institutional and private equity investors.”

Andrew Cowell, Bruntwood’s head of sales in Manchester, is joining MEPC at its Birchwood Park Estate in Warrington as commercial director.

Jonathan Walsh, managing director of MEPC Birchwood Park said: “Andrew has a proven reputation of working closely with existing and prospective occupiers. He has probably been one of the leading people involved in the letting of more office space in central Manchester than most over the past five years, such is the professionalism and reach of Bruntwood.

“In joining MEPC Andrew will bring further energy and expertise to an already successful team involved at Birchwood Park.”
