Mulbery on site at stalled housing scheme

CONSTRUCTION work has re-started on the site of a stalled development for 30 homes in St Helens.

Developer Mulbury Homes acquired the site, known as The Beeches, from the administrators of Chelford Homes, which went into administration in June 2012.

The site was then acquired by North West housing group Regenda which is working with Mulbury to finish seven partly-built homes and 27 new ones on Jubits Lane.

The development, which has received funding from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), will be a mix of two, three and four bedroomed homes, all offered for affordable rent.

Greg Mulligan, director at Mulbury Homes said: “By creating a partnership with Regenda Group, we are able to deliver much needed affordable housing in this area of St Helens, rather than allowing it to lie dormant.

“We are making it a priority to complete the seven partly built homes by the end of March this year, with the entire scheme to be finished by March 2014.”
