Nobles’ £800k health fillip

LIVERPOOL’S Nobles Construction has been awarded a £800,000 contract by Queenscourt Hospice in Southport.

The firm will to build two ward extensions which will improve facilities and increase bedroom size.

The 43-week project will also include landscaping and restoration work to the woodland area at the rear of the facility. Work will be completed by June next year.

Peter Linford, director at Nobles Construction, said: “This is the sixth health contract we’ve secured this year and we have another four out to tender.

“We’re really beginning to reap the rewards of our sector experience, despite such a competitive market place, which is down to our ability to add to and enhance plans while also working within tight budgets and timescales.”

Ann Throp, director of non clinical services at Queenscourt Hospice, said: “We’re delighted to be in a position to move forward with the developments and deliver an environment that allows our patients to feel comfortable while receiving the best care possible.”

Queenscourt Hospice is an independent charity providing specialist palliative care and support services for people living with terminal illness and their families. The refurbishment and improvement works was funded by charity donations and a grant from the Department of Health.
