Ensor exchanges contracts on Stockport site

ENSOR Holdings has exchanged contracts to sell a subsidiary site in Stockport to make way for a Bellway Homes development.
The building materials and security products group is selling the land occupied by its SRC rubber processing and recycling business at the back of Crossley Park Industrial Estate off Stockport Road, Heaton Chapel.
SRC occupies a five-acre industrial site with tyre wholesaler RH Claydon which is also selling its plot.
Bellway is combining the land with the 15-acre former Stockport College campus to build 220 houses. It has already received planning approval.
Ensor said it expects the land sale to complete next year. Chief executive Roger Harrison told TheBusinessDesk: “We’re looking to relocate to an alternative location but the completion of the sale is not for some time yet.
“This has been in discussion for six or seven years because Stockport College wanted to consolidate at one site and they needed the cash to do it. That was the driving force and it made sense to put the parcels of land together.”
