Bennett Verby hiring amid outsourcing success

ACCOUNTANTS Bennett Verby is looking to boost its team by 10% to 100 after a surge of new business wins in its outsourcing division, which has picked up more than 150 new clients this year.

The 90-strong Stockport-based firm is taking on nine new staff, five of which are in its outsourcing business which provides back office functions to small businesses such as bookkeeping, payroll and VAT.

Managing partner, Bernard Verby, said the outsourcing division has grown around 30% over the last 12 months and is still expanding.

He said: “We offer the full range of back office accountancy services and more clients are realising the cost savings of outsourcing these functions. It is possible to shave up to 50% off a company’s annual internal costs which makes sense, particularly in the present economic climate.”

Elsewhere, the firm is taking on four accountants in its audit and accounts team.

Mr Verby added: “We have gained more than 150 new clients so far in 2013 and are recruiting more staff as we continue to expand.”

In February, the firm reported a £1m hike in turnover to £5.6m in 2012.
