Meridian wins place on NHS nursing panel

NORTH West recruitment agency Meridian Business Support has won a significant public sector contract.

The £110m turnover Altrincham-based group has been placed on the Government Procurement Services framework for nursing care, covering all regions of the UK and with a total value of around £1bn.

This means Meridian, which has more than 80 branches nationwide, is one of a small number of approved suppliers of general nursing and community nursing across National Health Service trusts.

The new framework agreement covers the supply of temporary nurses of all bands, including critical, general and midwifery.

In a competitive process during which each regional ‘lot’ attracted more than 200 agency bidders, Meridian was shortlisted for all regions.

It was identified as a stand-out recruitment specialist with proven capabilities, after scoring the highest marks possible for its quality assessments and providing highly competitive quotes for each category.

Tina Cork, head of health at Meridian, said: “”Having been up against stiff competition, this is a significant achievement, earned thanks to a demonstration of our expert knowledge of the health sector and proving that our values are aligned with those of the framework.”
