Stockport printer opens £500,000 hub in Scotland

STOCKPORT-based printing firm APS Group has opened a new £500,000 Operations and Document Management centre at Leith in Edinburgh following a successful contract win with the Scottish Government.
The family-owned firm said that the 26,000 sq ft premises it has taken on have been completely refurbished and that the centre would help to sustain around 65 full-time jobs.
The company, which is owned and run by Nick Snelson, has also invested heavily in new digital printing and IT equipment in the site in a bid to boost capacity.
Allan Doyle, head of APS Scotland, said: “This investment is designed to support the Scottish Government and many of its collaborative partners such as Visit Scotland, Historic Scotland and Highlands and Islands Enterprise. It not only provides the right level of infrastructure, technology and people to deliver the job, but also acts as a springboard for further growth in Scotland.”
APS Group was set up in Stockport in 1961 and has been operating in Scotland for eight years. It now employs a total of 500 staff and has a turnover of almost £40m.
