Roxtec seals key contract

SAFETY seal firm Roxtec has won a key contract to supply equipment to a project at one of the world’s biggest oilfields.
Bury-based Roxtec was hired by oil giant Agip KCO, the agent company responsible for developing phase one of the Kashagan project– to provide cable transit seals to onshore processing facilities for the Kashagan oilfield.
The Caspian Sea oilfield, off the coast of Kazakhstan, was discovered in July 2000, is estimated to hold 38billion barrels of oil, with 11billion potentially recoverable.
Roxtec products were used to seal the instrument control cables into the infrastructure at the oil fields. The seals have been installed in the walls and floors of these buildings to protect against fire, water and gas leakages.
Managing director Graham O’Hare said:”This is terrific contract and puts us at the heart of one of the largest oil projects in the world, working with some of the biggest companies in the sector.
“The use of our cable transit design software by the electrical and instrumentation engineers was critical to the success of the project. This also ensured that we worked with the client from early design through to construction.”
Mr O’Hare added: “More and more industries are turning to Roxtec to protect their people, buildings and equipment. We pride ourselves on a problem-solving mentality, working in a wide range of industries across the globe including construction, energy, telecoms and marine.”
