Jones Lang LaSalle to shut Liverpool office

SOME 30 jobs are under threat at Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) which has announced plans to shut its Liverpool office and two others.
The property agent said it was proposing to close Liverpool, which employs around 15 staff, Bath and Newcastle following a review of the business.
JLL is continuing to reshape its business following its 2011 acquisition of King Sturge.
The Manchester office, which has some 140 staff, will take on Liverpool’s workload and the firm is seeking to redeploy as many staff as possible.
In a statement it said: “Following a review of its regional business, Jones Lang LaSalle is proposing to close three of its smaller regional offices in Bath, Liverpool and Newcastle.
“Existing instructions will be serviced out of our established regional hubs in Bristol, Manchester and Leeds respectively and we are presently seeking redeployment opportunities for the 30 affected staff to these offices. Where there are no redeployment opportunities a limited number of redundancies are likely.
“At the same time the firm is planning to relocate and improve its workspace in Norwich and Nottingham and refurbish its office in Exeter. A consolidated workplace strategy for the London estate is also currently being prepared.
“Jones Lang LaSalle prides itself on the depth of resource throughout the country and by growing its businesses in Manchester, Leeds and Bristol will be able to provide an even more efficient and cohesive service to clients.”
