620-space car park planned for Trinity Way

A NEW nine-storey multi-storey car park, with an unusual design of meshed metal panels, is being proposed for the Chapel Street regeneration area of Salford.

Planning consent for the car park was granted in 2010 as part of the wider regeneration strategy for the area.

A reserved matters application has now been submitted covering issues such as design, layout and scale.

The English Cities Fund – a joint venture between Muse Developments, Legal & General Property and The Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) – is behind the application for a 620-space car park off Trinity Way on the site of an existing surface car park on a corner of land between Irwell Street and the railway lines.

It forms part of the New Bailey development where Premier Inn is to open a new 143-bed hotel. Work is due to start this month.
