Hotel booking firm in administration
A COMPANY which owns the hotel booking website reserveahotelonline has been put into administration.
Hale-based EC&S Developments has seen join administrators Paul Stanley and Jason Greenhalgh from the Manchester office of insolvency firm Begbies Traynor appointed.
Depite recent cost cuts the business failed to generate sufficient sales to break even with the joint administrators blaming the strong euro and the “nature of the industry”.
The company has had its bank accounts frozen and so bookings already made by customers cannot be honoured but they have been advised to contact their credit card company if they booked with a credit card in order to claim a refund.
“This is a hugely competitive sector and margins are constantly being squeezed,” said Mr Stanley. “A number of factors, including a strong euro and the increasing cost of pay per click on the internet have had a detrimental impact on this business.”
