Surface Transforms signs German deal

SURFACE Transforms, which produces carbon fibre ceramic parts for the aerospace, defence and sports car markets, has signed a distribution deal with a major European brake systems supplier.
The Ellesmere Port firm says the deal with German group Mov”it could be worth up to £400,000 per year.
The main markets for the ceramic brake sets supplied by Surface Transforms are for high performance sports cars, luxury vehicles and lightweight racing cars.
Mov’it was established in 1994 and is based in Achern Germany. It supplies its automotive clients within Germany through 45 sub dealers and has distributors
in 21 countries.
It installs around 3,000 steel based brake disc systems a year for cars including Aston Martins and Maseratis.
Last week Surface Transforms, which supplies brakes for Swiss sportscar maker Weber as well as carbon fibre ceramic composite equipment for missiles, saw a 90% increase in turnover to £508,111 in the year to May 31 while pre-tax losses fell to £750,459 from £782,439.
