Russells completes Northwich Waitrose

MANCHESTER-based Russells Construction has completed work on an 18,000 sq ft Waitrose in Northwich.
The store, on the site of the town’s former cinema, is part of a wider revamp of Hayhurst Quay, which includes plans for retirement homes, a leisure unit, and a marina
The new Waitrose, designed by Lewis and Hickey architecture, will employ 170 staff and is due to open on November 21.
Gareth Russell, director of Russells Construction, said: “The completion of the retail unit is an important milestone in the redevelopment of Hayhurst Quay and we’re pleased to handover on schedule to the Waitrose fit out team. We’ll remain on site to complete the external works, car parking and marina access, creating an attractive space for visitors to use and enjoy.”
Peter Gibbs, branch manager, said: “We’ve reached an exciting stage with the opening just a matter of days away. Over the next week, we will be making the final touches to the interior and stocking the shelves ready to welcome our first customers. We have a very enthusiastic team who are all really looking forward to starting work and bringing a new shopping experience to local residents.”
