Asons to invest £7m in new HQ

BOLTON law firm Asons is to invest £7m in a purpose built office in the town.
The firm, which specialises in injury and medical negligence claims, is planning to build a 36,000 sq ft, four-storey block on Clarence Street.
The scheme, which sould go to planning in December, is being funded by the firm’s founders and HSBC.
Bolton architect Bradshaw Gass & Hope has been hired to design the building which will accommodate nearly 500 staff. The firm, which had a turnover of £9m last year, employs around 270 people at its current Bark Street base.
Chief executive Imran Akram said: “This is going to be a gateway building, so we wanted to build something that really stood out, something memorable. I think we’ve achieved that; the designs are modern, simple and striking. We’ve always said ‘we’re not your traditional law firm’ and these designs have really brought that ethos to life.”
Asons was set up by Mr Akram and his brother Kamran four years ago. Their father Mohammed moved to Bolton from Pakistan in 1972 and the family first lived in Clarence Street, close to the proposed site.
