Interest in Liverpool’s Dale Street picks up

THERE has been renewed interest in the Princes Building in Liverpool’s Dale Street which is up for sale at £1.65m.
The 30,000 sq ft building, owned by a private investor, has been on the market for around five years along with a four-storey Victorian warehouse which sits behind it.
But agent Brian Ricketts of Hitchcock Wright & Partners said other developments in the street could be driving interest.
The building is next to a new Ibis hotel and a Georgian terrace which has been derelict for some time but should be redeveloped under a new agreement. The developer, Jamworks, is also working on the neighbouring Bridewell building.
The Princes building also sits opposite the Municipal Buildings and the site of a planned four star hotel being developed by Salford City Reds owner Marwan Koukash.
Mr Ricketts said: “I was originally instructed five years ago but over the last month or so we’ve had a lot more enquiries and viewings. There just seem to be more signs of general market improvement in the air.”
