Property briefs: Pochin Construction; MedicX; Artez; 5plus

POCHIN Construction has completed a series of student accommodation projects with a total value of £35.9m.
 
The work included a £27.4m contract to build Fountainbridge, a scheme for developer Cityheart which has 778 bedrooms over four separate blocks.

Pochin also finished a £1.7m job to construct a six-storey block for 47 students in Gildart Street, Liverpool for Parkmoor.

The business also carried out student accommodation refurbishments for the Mansion Group in London, Liverpool and Leeds.

Managing director Jonathan Pochin said: “It’s certainly been a busy quarter for Pochin, but we’re pleased to have delivered such a large number of projects. We really value the longstanding relationships we have with our clients, the success of which is based on providing timely, high quality student accommodation.”

HEALTHCARE developer, the MedicX Fund, has acquired a medical centre in Flintshire for £7.6m.

The building, in Buckley, will be let to a pharmacy and two GP practices when it is completed in early 2015.

MedicX said all tenants will take 20-year leases subject to three-yearly rent reviews.

MedicX now has 122 properties throughout the UK of which 111 are complete and 11 are under construction. The annualised rent roll for all properties is now £29.3m.

BOLTON construction firm Artez has completed its latest round of projects and appointed its seventh team member.

It has completed a £96,000 project which saw the team complete remedial repairs, decoration and stone cleaning to Newcastle’s Grade II Listed Eldon Buildings.

It has also finished the division of a 10,000 sq ft storage unit at Morston Point in Manchester Road, Bolton.

Founder Mike Banton said: “We’ve had another great year, delivering great projects like these and growing our team.”

5plus Architects has won three awards, including Design Practice of the Year, at The Mix interiors awards held at The Hilton in Manchester.

The firm’s work on Trafford Town Hall was named Best Public Sector Interior Project and the office fit-out of 35 Fountain Street won Small Interior Project.
