Global Media Corporation placed in provisional liquidation

A CHESHIRE company, Global Media Corporation, which sold advertising space in publications promoting the work of the emergency services, has been placed into provisional liquidation on public interest grounds.

The Insolvency Service said staff at Port Sunlight-based Global Media had cold-called potential customers claiming to be affiliated with the police. It is alleged that diaries and magazines were not produced or distributed.

Action was taken after an investigation by the Insolvency Service and a petition by Department for Business.  The Official Receiver was appointed as provisional liquidator to the business at the  High Court in Manchester on December 11.

Global Media Corporation traded from premises at 95 Greendale Road, Port Sunlight, Wirral. Its sole director is Kelie Taylor who was appointed in December 2009.

The case is now subject to High Court action and no further information will be made available until the petition is heard in the High Court on 9 January 2014.
