MPE Interiors completes ferry refurb

BIRKENHEAD-based MPE Interiors has completed a fit-out contract on a Stena Line vessel that sails from Anglesey to Ireland.

MPE carried out the refurbishment works on the passenger decks of the Stena Adventurer which operates between Holyhead and Dublin. The value of the contract was not disclosed.

MPE director Cliff Grainger said: “This is another great project for MPE Interiors to win and continues our long standing relationship with Stena Line.”

“The job follows similar works which we completed on the Stena Mersey and Stena Lagan over the summer. This background has given us a strong understanding of the customer, their high standards and the nature of their vessels.”

MPE has sales of around £2m and more than 30 staff at its manufacturing base in Old Bidston Road. It was established by former Cammell Laird managers John Whetnall and Cliff Grainger in 2001.
