Freshcig expecting sales to surge again after strong year

THE boom in electronic cigarettes has sparked impressive growth for a North West small business.

Freshcig, based in Marple, Stockport, says an increase in consumer and trade demand has boosted tunover by 80% over the the last 12 months from £250,000 at the end of 2012 to £450,000.

It is expecting further strong growth next year, with sales of £1m forecast by the end of 2014.

Managing director Ben Wilson said: “The market has seen significant developments this year and with heightened consumer awareness around the products, we expect to continue to see a similar rate of growth”.

Significant recent developments has seen Freshcig agree a national listing with wholesaler Boyes Group which has 54 stores around the UK.

It has also started to work with outsourced sales company the Miles Groupn to build on its supply lines into the pharmacy sector.

Mr Wilson adds: “We supply over 500 stockists around the UK including convenience, independent and wholesaler stores such as Boyes and we will continue to expand in that area.

“We’ve also been very well received by pharmacy stores and we’re joining the likes of clients including Colgate and Cow & Gate with the Miles Group who approached us to represent the product through their sales team, it’s an exciting time for us”.

Freshcig has recently moved to new offices in Goyt Mill, doubling the amount of space to increase its stock holding capability.
