Jet2.com expands with three new routes

LOW cost airline Jet2.com, is expanding its routes from Manchester Airport for summer 2011, with the launch of the airport’s – and airline’s – first route to Brive in the Dordogne.
The new route will be Jet2.com’s 34th destination out of Manchester Airport. Offering access to the Dordogne valley, the route is expected to be a big hit with holiday makers, but also the many expatriates and home owners living in that area of France. Prices will start from just £39.99 one-way, including taxes.
As well as the Brive flight, the airline is launching two new ‘sunshine’ routes from the airport to Larnaca and Paphos in Cyprus, and expanding the frequency of other departures to Venice, Pisa, Nice, Palma, Murcia, Malaga, Funchal and Monastir.
Philip Meeson, managing director of Jet2.com, said: “We are delighted to be able to introduce the new route of Brive (Dordogne) to Manchester Airport, along with two new routes to Cyprus and extra flights to some of our most popular holiday routes.
“The North West has been one of our biggest growth areas in recent years and we have stuck to our commitment of offering flights from Jet2.com and packages through Jet2holidays to a wide range of destinations, some of which are not currently served by any other airline out of Manchester.”
Andrew Harrison, commercial director at Manchester Airport, said: “Jet2.com continues to be a strong performer and its ongoing expansion, and the addition of new routes for passengers flying out of Manchester is a sign of renewed confidence in the market.
“The addition of extra services to Venice, Pisa, Nice, Majorca, Murcia, Malaga, Funchal and Monastir also shows how well those routes have been performing for the airline.”
Flights to Paphos will depart twice weekly throughout the summer, beginning April 6 2011, with the Larnaca service departing every Saturday from May 14. Fares start from £69.99 one way including taxes.
Jet2.com is increasing its Venice service from four to six flights per week, Nice from five to six flights per week and adding additional flights to Majorca on Saturdays and Murcia on Sundays.
There will also now be a daily service offered to Malaga, five flights a week to Pisa and flights to both Funchal and Monastir will increase from once to twice a week.
