Surface Transforms upbeat on rising revenue

SURFACE TRANSFORMS, the Ellesmere Port manufacturer of high performance ceramic brakes, has reduced losses and is working closely with an aerospace supplier.

In the year to November pre-tax losses reduced to £373,000 from £429,000 on sales of £558,000, up 38%.

The revenue growth was down to an agreement with a major global manufacturer of clutch and transmission systems and deals with car racing teams.

Chairman David Bundred said: “The company is very close to completing testing of products with a tier one aerospace supplier and is hopeful of achieving a commercial breakthrough on this project in 2014.

“In the automotive market the company continues to work with both an international brake system supplier and a UK based automotive company; it is also encouraging to report that our direct automotive OEM [original equipment manufacturer] discussions now include a continental automotive company, a new project for the company.”
