Appointments: Freeman Fisher adds partner; Enright heads to TRM & more

COMMERCIAL law firm Freeman Fisher has hired Krista Powell from top tier practice Addleshaw Goddard as a partner and head of its new real estate department.

Ms Powell has specialised in commercial property since qualifying in 2002. She worked at DLA Piper, Halliwells and Gateley before joining Addleshaw Goddard.

Co-founder Alex Megaw said: “Krista is a key appointment for Freeman Fisher in our strategy to develop a strong commercial brand. She comes to us with an excellent pedigree in commercial property.”

The firm was co-founded last year by Mr Megaw, a former managing partner at Davies Arnold Cooper in Manchester, and Gary Black, who was previously a partner at Berg then legal director at investment group CorpAcq.

Last month, Manchester-based Freeman Fisher expanded its offering with the launch of a dental and healthcare division led by Jonathan Jacobs.

MATT Enright has joined independent retail-ready corrugated packaging manufacturer, TRM Packaging as finance director.

Mr Enright, who was previously FD at Manchester-based bedding supplier Trendsetter Home Furnishings, will report directly to the chief executive Trevor Maund and be responsible for developing business plans and the implementation of new financial controls and systems.

Mr Enright was introduced to TRM Packaging by Manchester-based executive recruitment company Rowan Finance.

Turnover has risen to £39m since 2001, and this exceptional SME is set for further expansion.  To deliver these targets the right FD was required, and Matt brings the correct talents and skill set.”

JANE Hubbard, head  of HR at The Mere Golf Resort & Spa in Cheshire, has been appointed a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management.

The fellowship recognises her strategic role in shaping The Mere’s business since joining two years ago. It is specifically an acknowledgement of the success of the leadership programme that Ms Hubbard developed and implement since the resort’s relaunch in 2012.

She said: “From a professional perspective, this appointment represents the pinnacle of my career achievements to date. I’m thrilled to receive the recognition from the ILM for the projects I have implemented here at The Mere.”

CHADDERTON-based ZenOffice has recruited industry expert Paul Strout as a key account director.

With around 30 years’ experience in the IT sector, including 17 years specialising in document efficiency, Mr Strout brings a wealth of valuable technical know-how to the group.

Managing director Les Kerr said: “Over the last two years we have grown our managed printing business from nothing to almost a fifth of our group turnover. With the appointment of Paul Strout I am confident we can continue that growth by helping even more customers to reduce print and copy costs and improve their document production capabilities.”
