Buyer sought for Brazilian restaurant chain

A CHESTER-based Brazilian restaurant chain is up for sale after being put into administration.
Camboriu Restaurants, owned by Volnei Borgert, trades as Tropeiro from five sites, Chester, Sheffield, Nottingham, Aberdeen and Glasgow. A sixth restaurant in Carlisle closed last month.
Ian Wright from Glasgow-based WRI Associates was appointed administrator on January 31 after HM Revenue & Customs issued a winding-up petition over unpaid VAT.
Mr Wright has been trading the business, which employs around 112 full and part-time staff, and is seeking a buyer.
He said: “The restaurants are all still open and are continuing to trade and it’s very much business as normal. Everything’s going well.
“We’ve done our best to attract as much interest as possible and have received a number of offers which we’re reviewing.”
Mr Wright said interest in the business had come from investors, landlords and rival operators.
