MANCHESTER law firm Turner Parkinson is celebrating a new client win by its real estate team.

The firm’s team, led by Paul Bibby, was one of only two law firms appointed nationally to deal with the property portfolio of AIM-listed drycleaning and linen hire company Johnson Service Group.  
 
Mr Bibby said: “We are delighted to be appointed as sole legal advisor to the northern division of Johnsons’ property portfolio and to continue to work with the company as part of their future growth plans.  We are proud to be part of the team of such a household name which demonstrates our focus of growing our practice and reputation.

DWF, has advised Umbro, the football brand, on its new five-year technical kit and sportswear partnership with Everton Football Club.
 
The partnership, which begins on June 1, will see Everton wear the famous double diamond of Umbro from the start of the 2014/15 season. It is Manchester-based Umbro’s first Premier League signing since its sale by Nike in 2012 to US company Iconix Brand Group.
 
Umbro will produce all on-pitch and training products for the men’s, women’s and academy teams at Everton and will also sponsor the club’s grassroots programmes.
 
Craig Chaplin, head of commercial at DWF, commented: “It has been great to work with an iconic client on such an important deal.”
 
Mr Chaplin and Catherine Harrison from DWF advised Umbro, while partner  Sue Russell and Megan Bentham at Hill Dickinson in Liverpool advised Everton Football Club.

LANCASHIRE law firm Vincents Solicitors has opened an office in Lytham, its seventh in the county.

Led by Chris Mathews, the firm’s recently appointed head of private client services, the office will be home to two solicitors, two legal executives and two support staff, providing family legal services – including divorce, child and elderly care matters, wills, probate and lasting powers of attorney and residential conveyancing.

Headquartered at Winckley Square in Preston, Vincents Solicitors has five other regional offices in Garstang, Longridge, Knott End, Penwortham and Colne.
 
The new office is part of a drive to double the size of the business by 2017 by targeting new markets, building on existing strengths and expanding the geographic footprint. Vincents has already seen turnover grow in the last 12 months by 20%  to over £4m.
