Property briefs: Bardsley bags £3m housing contracts; International House full

BARDSLEY Construction has won two housebuilding contracts worth £3m in Oldham and Blackburn.

The Dukinfield firm has secured a £1.7m contract to build 14 houses and six bungalows for Twin Valley Homes, Blackburn with Darwen’s largest registered social landlord.

The properties in Gretna Road and Brookside should be finished in the summer.

It also won a contract worth £1.3m to construct 11 three and four-bedroom houses in Milne Street, Oldham for First Choice Homes Oldham.

Ged Rooney, procurement director at Bardsley, said: “We have worked hard to establish a major and reputable presence in the provision of social housing throughout the North West and further afield and these key contracts continue and enhance that as we move into 2014.

“Volumes of new work across different sectors are returning to levels not witnessed since busier periods of several years ago and we look forward to further strengthening our order book.”

LIVERPOOL-based Prospect GB’s International House development at Chester Business Park is now fully let following a deal secured with NextGear Capital UK on the final remaining unit.

The lender to the motor industry has agreed a 10-year lease on a 5,504 sq ft ground-floor suite.

Manheim, a global provider of vehicle remarketing services, has launched NextGear Capital UK to operate as an independent organisation.

John Bailey, chief executive at Manheim Europe, said: “Chester is one of the financial powerhouses in the UK outside of London. Many leading financial service companies have operations based in the city, so it will aid us in our recruitment of high calibre people to support this new business venture.”
