Yorkshire bank backs Northern Diver

A Wigan-based firm that sells diving equipment has secured £250,000 from Yorkshire Bank to help carry out a £2.5m Ministry of Defence contract.

Northern Diver designs, imports and wholesales diving equipment which includes wet suits, air cylinders and breathing apparatus.

It has won an exclusive contract to manufacture diving drysuits and equipment for the UK military.

Chief executive Mike Armitage said: “Our reputation as the world’s leading drysuit and diving equipment manufacturer is enhancing and we will continue to go from strength to strength in our refurbished headquarters.

“The finance and banking management from Yorkshire Bank has allowed us to support this significant contract with the Ministry of Defence and maintain a strong relationship with one of our biggest clients.”
