Co-op submits new NOMA plans

THE Co-operative Group has submitted plans for the next phase of its £800m NOMA development.

It wants to create a public square to the front of New Century Hall where the lower ground floor will have shops, cafes and restaurants.

The work will involve pedestrianising northern end of Dantzic Street, as well as Redfern Street and Mayes Street.

Last year the Co-op secured permission for two sports pitches on the Co-operative Insurance Services car park on Miller Street.

The NOMA scheme will see the redevelopment of a number of former Co-op Group buildings and land holdings across a 20-acre site north of the city centre.

In April it signed up Hermes Real Estate, which manages money for the BT pension fund, as a 50:50 joint venture partner.
