Appointments: Turner Parkinson; Palatine & more

BOUTIQUE Manchester commercial law firm Turner Parkinson has strengthened its real estate team with the appointment of experienced associate Daniel Woodcock.

Mr Woodcock has 12 years’ experience acting on a wide range of commercial real estate matters, with particular experience in relation to residential development, secured lending, real estate restructuring, commercial leasing, property investment and corporate support work.  He joins Turner Parkinson from Stockport firm Gorvins.  Prior to that he was head of commercial property at North west firm Birchall Blackburn and spent 10 years working for DLA Piper.

MANCHESTER-based Palatine Private Equity has appointed Dan Hatcher as an investment manager.
 
The firm is shortlisted in the inaugural Rainmaker Awards, and has recently backed an MBO at restaurant chain Gusto.

Mr Hatcher joins the firm following seven years at Gresham Private Equity where he held non-executive positions for businesses such as oil and gas services company ICR Integrity and IESA, the Warrington-based outsourced procurement services provider. Prior to Gresham, Dan worked at EY in the transaction advisory services team.
 
Gary Tipper, managing partner at Palatine, said: “We’re delighted to add Dan to our team. He has experience of working with entrepreneurs and management teams across a range of industry sectors and has worked on a number of deals. He’s a great addition to our existing team as we continue to invest our second fund.”

PROPERTY and construction firm GB Group has appointed Jon Hinson as its new business unit director for the North. He will be responsible for leading the group’s offices in Stockport, Newcastle and Wakefield,

Mr Hinson has 25 years industry experience in specialist sectors including health, residential, student accommodation, and hotel and leisure.
