Holidaybreak lures HMV FD as Baddely retires

HOLIDAYBREAK has announced that Neil Bright, finance director of retailer HMV, will replace long-standing FD Bob Baddeley when he retires at the end of the year.

Mr Baddeley, 56,  has been with Northwich-based Holidaybreak for more than 15 years, serving under three chief executives, Richard Atkinson, Carl Michel and most recently Martin Davies.

Mr Bright, 47, knows Holidaybreak well, having joined the board as a non-executive director in November 2008 and chairing its audit committee since January 2009.

Martin Davies said: “I am delighted that Neil has agreed to take up the position of group finance director as we look to take the group forward and enhance our prospects for profitable growth.

“His time at HMV gives him extensive experience in a consumer-facing and international business. Moreover, having been on the Holidaybreak board since 2008,
Neil is already an important member of the team and has an excellent understanding of the group and of management’s strategy.”

“At the same time, we are sad to be saying goodbye to Bob, who has given the group such sterling service since March 1995. I know that I speak for everyone in Holidaybreak when I wish him a long and happy retirement.”

Mr Bright said: “I am now delighted to be joining the executive team to help drive further progress under the leadership of Martin at this exciting time for the company”.
