Macdonald invests £2m in Craxton Wood refurb

MACDONALD hotels is investing more than £2m in revamping and refreshing its Craxton Wood Hotel near Chester.

The refurb will see the property’s health club given a full upgrade and extension and 70 bedrooms given a facelift.

The spa renovations began at the hotel in early January and are expected to be completed by the end of June.

The hotel’s ‘Vital Health & Wellbeing Club’ will have an 18 metre refurbished swimming pool, a poolside sauna and steam room, 12 spa treatment rooms plus full spa thermal suite.

There will also be a ‘Zen garden’, a spa café, a dedicated nail and aroma bar area, a gym with a private consultation area and a studio.

Hotel general manager Mark King said: “The team is incredibly excited to announce the significant investment designed to improve our health and wellbeing facilities for our guests.

“We are working with THR3 Design interior designers to create the ultimate tranquil retreat in the North West and state of the art leisure facilities.”

This latest  investment follows the completion of 10 new bedrooms at the end of last year. A further 60 additional bedrooms are due to be refurbished later this year.
