Menai manor house up for grabs at auction

A FORMER school, a manor house, a chapel and a cabaret bar are up for sale at Pugh & Co’s auction this month.

One of the lots is Treborth Hall, a grade II-listed former manor house in Bangor overlooking the Menai Strait.

The 12-acre site is being sold by Gwynedd Council with a guide price of £250,000-£300,000.

Thorncliffe School, in Barrow-in-Furness, is being sold by Cumbria Council as two separate sites. The north side has a guide of £350,000 plus and the south side is priced at £450,000.

Paul Thompson, auctioneer and director at Pugh & Co, said: “Our auctions have seen a growing number of first time investors, with 53% of attendees to our latest auctions entering an auction room for the very first time.

“Both buyers and sellers are seeing significant benefits from the fast paced, affordable sales route opting for a chain-free process under the hammer.”

The auction will take place at the Etihad stadium in Manchester on June 12.
