ENWORKS has secured £8.65m funding to continue providing business services to 2010.

ENWORKS has secured £8.65m funding to continue providing business services to 2010.

The environmental business support organisation is to get £2.55m from the European Regional Development Fund matched with £6.1m funding from the Northwest Regional Development Agency.

Enworks was set up in 2001 to help North West businesses reduce their energy use, make cost savings and reduce their environmental impact.

It said the money means it can work with another 1,500 businesses in the region, giving them £31m in cost savings.

Steven Broomhead, chief executive at the NWDA, said: “The programme is a prime example of how the agency is working with partners to ensure the North West continues to be the leading region to implement sustainable development practices.”
