Hotel Football checks into the old stock exchange

GARY Neville has brought two of his Manchester property assets together – basing the operational office for Hotel Football at the former stock exchange building in Norfolk Street.

He acquired the 23,000 sq ft Grade II-listed block in March 2013 for around £1.5m from MCR Property, the Rusholme-based group controlled by Aneel Mussarat.

It was home to Italian restaurant Stock for some time but it closed earlier this year.

A small team has now moved into the building to prepare for the launch of Hotel Football later in the year.

The 130-bed hotel at Old Trafford is being launched by GG Hospitality, a leisure business owned by Neville and former Manchester United teammate Ryan Giggs. The pair are also planning to roll out another football-themed venture called Cafe Football.

A spokesman for the firm said the pre-opening team for Hotel Football will be based at Stock in the short term until the new hotel is built.
