Appointments: Journey9 hires and promotes; PwC & more

MARKETING and events agency Journey9 has made four new hires and promoted two key staff on the back of recent account wins.
The new hires at the Manchester agency, which has just moved from Quay House to the former Granada TV building, Hello House, are: account manager Lauren Soar; account executives Melissa Cannon and Daniella Reed and Andrew Daley who is a club liaison assistant for J9’s Northwest Football Awards project.
Meanwhile Sophie Southworth has been promoted to business development director and long-serving account manager Amy Beresford, who has been with Journey9 since its creation four years ago, has become senior account manager.
Journey9’s managing director, Laura Wolfe, said: “After what was a pretty tough 2013 for most of us, the growth we have seen over the last eight months has been exceptional, winning a number of high profile accounts and dramatically raising our profile.” Recent key account wins include Greater Sport, Blemain Group, Heart of Manchester BID, Barratt Homes, the Institute of Directors, JCI, Lucha Libre and The Eden Group.

BUSINESS adviser and accountant PwC has appointed partner Ian Marsden to lead its audit practice across the North West.
Mr Marsden is currently PwC’s property and construction leader in the north and will now also lead the 200-strong assurance team in Manchester and Liverpool.
He joined the firm in 2008 having previously been chief financial officer of a property development and investment group in Manchester. He has been an audit partner for the last 12 years.
He said: “Our North West assurance team has had a great year with a number of client wins and transactions, so it is an exciting time to be taking up this role. Audit is at the heart of our brand, and we continue to invest significantly in the practice to ensure we deliver high quality and challenging audits to give our clients confidence in their financial information.”

FORWARD Role, the specialist recruiter for the marketing and digital sector, has appointed Thea Parry as a senior consultant, joining from Michael Page.
In her new role with the Manchester company she is responsible for the professional services marketing and business development recruitment function.

GABRIELLE Iskandar has joined Warrington e-commerce agency, Space 48 as a digital marketing executive.
Joining from Melbourne Server Hosting on Manchester she will work in Space 48’s pay per click (PPC)department.
Managing director Jon Woodall said: “We are thrilled to be in a position where we are able to grow the business enough to develop our expertise in different departments, in particular the PPC team, which is crucial for a successful eCommerce offering.”
