Liverpool’s Prudential Assurance Buildings sold

LIVERPOOL’S listed Prudential Assurance Buildings is one of four North West office blocks that have been sold as part of a £35m disposal.

Stock market-listed property investor Redefine International said the assets were part of its non-core portfolio. The identity of the buyer was not disclosed.

The sale also included: Transpennine 200, Rochdale; Tweedale House in Oldham and Brocol House, Wigan which are both used as job centres.

The Prudential Assurance Buildings at 30-38 Dale Street was designed by Alfred Waterhouse, the architect behind Manchester Town Hall and the Natural History Museum in London.

The other buildings included in the sale are: Cooper House, Barnsley; Newfoundland Court, Bristol; Wren House, Chelmsford; St Clare House, Ipswich; King’s Court, Sheffield; Molineux House, Wolverhampton.

Redefine said the sale price was 12.4% higher than the book value. The proceeds will be used to repay debt associated with the Delta facility which was restructured in 2012.
