Housing Units is the pick of the bunch

FAMILY-owned home furnishings retailer, Housing Units, is celebrating after winning a national award and the title of ‘Best Independent Department Store award.

The Failsworth-based store, which has annual sales of more than £20m, saw off competition from the world-famous Harrods at the 15th annual Excellence In Housewares Awards.

The business is having a strong year – it is reporting record customer numbers of customers and saw a 26% uplift in sales when it launched its summer sale.
 
The awards ceremony, which took place in London last week, are held to celebrate the achievements of both retailers and suppliers in the UK housewares industry.
 
Nick Fox, merchandise and marketing director at Housing Units, said: “We are thrilled to have won the award alongside such strong competition. It’s been a great year for Housing Units, and to receive recognition for this is a fantastic accomplishment for the business and its loyal and hardworking staff.”

Housing Units trades from  150,000 sq ft space which is next to a 60,000 sq ft distribution and administration centre.
