Property briefs: Winning Pitch; BCL Legal; Standish homes

COACHING and business support firm Winning Pitch has doubled the size of its office at Exchange Quay, Salford.

It has signed a new five-year lease for 8,281 sq ft at the Number 8 building.

The business employs around 120 staff at Exchange Quay and offices in Cardiff, Gateshead, Liverpool and Leeds.

The expansion comes after Winning Pitch secured investment of £2.5m from two funds managed by Enterprise Ventures in May.

Agents on Exchange Quay are Savills, Matthews & Goodman and Canning O’Neill. Winning Pitch was unrepresented.

LEGAL recruitment firm BCL Legal has acquired the long leasehold on 13,500 sq ft at 77 Deansgate in Manchester.

It will use 7,308 sq ft on the third floor and let out the rest of the space.

The company employs 45 people at its new Manchester headquarters after moving from the Lexicon Building in Mount Street. It also has offices in London, Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool and Reading.

Managing director James Batt said: “We are thrilled with our new office; it’s in a great central location that allows the business to be easily accessible. It was important for us to secure a long term base from which to drive growth and to create an office environment that was attractive for both our clients and employees.”

OBI advised the firm on the deal and also managed the fit-out. It will handle the letting of the extra space. Legal advice was provided by Thomas Pearson of JMW Solicitors.

The vendor was Preston-based Maple Grove, a subsidiary of the Preston-based Eric Wright Group.

A PLAN for 110 homes in Standish, near Wigan, has been thrown out by the council.

Jones Homes wanted to build 110 homes on land near Chorley Road.

Councillors on the planning committee decided there was already enough new housing planned in the area.

It follows their decision in July to reject an application to build 250 homes on the former golf course site in Standish.
