Comms-care hails successful year of growth

IT SUPPORT services company Comms-care has reported a strong  annual results, with operating profits surging 44% to £3m.

The Northwich-based company’s figures for the year to the end of March also reveal a 25% rise in revenues to £19.6m.

Growth in the current financial year will be more dramatic reflecting the company’s acquisition in June of Runcorn firm Platform Consultancy Services , which is expected to drive revenues over £30m and take staff numbers from 200 to 250.

The business, controlled by MD Ben Davies and chairman Peter Lloyd, was founded in 2002 and provides IT support and maintenance to more than 720 IT resellers, distributors and vendors across the UK and Ireland.

Mr Davies said: “This was another successful year for Comms-care as we continued to deliver on our strategic plan to be the leading channel only IT services provider.  We have invested heavily in technical expertise over the last 12 months to ensure we are in the best position possible to help our channel partners to effectively outsource the IT services they provide to their clients to Comms-care.

“With the acquisition of Platform Consultancy in June, we are now able to offer an even wider portfolio of professional services for them to provide to clients, including additional propositions around Microsoft, VMware, Citrix and NetApp technologies.”

Comms-care said new technologies such as virtualisation, cloud computing, wireless, remote working and the issues around data storage are bringing new opportunities to its customers, who are then outsourcing technical support to it.

Chairman Peter Lloyd said: “The technology industry is extremely fast-moving and we know that we cannot stand still – we need to continue investing in our technical expertise and ability to provide the services that our reseller partners need to succeed.”
