Appointments: Norcros hires ex AZ exec; Preferred Spaces; Kalibrate; UBS & more

WILMSLOW-based Norcros, the supplier of showers, taps, bathroom accessories, tiles and adhesives, has appointed James Eyre as director of corporate strategy and development.

Mr Eyre, who joins the business from AstraZeneca, global products, where he was finance director, strategic partnering and business development, will lead Norcros’s acquisition drive into complementary markets and industry segments in line with its strategy to double revenues by 2018.

He has more than 15 years’ experience in acquisition finance and corporate banking industry, including previous roles for the Bank of Ireland, Rothschilds and Bank of Scotland.

Nick Kelsall, chief executive said: “We are delighted that James is joining Norcros, his specialist knowledge and expertise will be valuable to the Group as it continues its growth and development strategy.”

WEALTH manager UBS has made two key appointments to its team based at Marsden Street, Manchester.

Executive diector Karan Sejpal joins from the Barclays Wealth and Investment Management where he looked after high net worth and ultra high net worth clients.  

Originally from Mumbai Mr Sejpal, who moved to Manchester 10 years ago to do an MBA at Manchester Business School, previously worked for Credit Suisse in the city.

The bank has also hired David Newman, who was also previously with Barclays in Manchester.  Mr Newman, an associate director, is an experienced advisor managing HNW and UHNW client relationships across the region.

MANCHESTER software firm Kalibrate Technologies has appointed Gregg Budoi as its new chief financial officer, succeeding Brad Ormsby. 

He will be based in Kalibrate’s North American office in Cleveland, Ohio, with chief executive Bob Stein and will take on a new, enlarged role that will encompass finance, human resources, M&A and business development activities.

Budoi has over 20 years’ experience in senior finance and operational roles, primarily within companies in the petroleum retail, convenience store, and finance sectors.  He joins Kalibrate from EZ Energy USA where he was chief executive.

COMMERCIAL fit-out contractor has made six appointments in recent months. The Sale-based company has taken on: Alison Wardle as customer services manager; Mike Walsh,  senior site manager; Steven Jordan, senior project manager; Katriona Mackenzie, interior designer; Craig Farrelly, small works manager and Nick Boyle as a quantity surveyor.

Managing director Jeremey Plastow said: “2014 has seen growth across all our sectors, up 35% on the previous year so it’s great to be able to strengthen the team.”
