Wren plans apartments at city centre block

MANCHESTER letting agent Wren Properties is to convert a 1960s office block in the city centre into 31 flats.

It bought Salisbury House on Granby Row for just under £3m at auction in the summer.

Planning approval has already been granted for the block which is empty and previously housed the council’s engineering department.

The property includes the Garrett pub which fronts onto Princess Street. Wren said it will be unaffected by its plans.

The Didsbury-based firm, owned by the Robinson family, plans to hold on to the apartments and rent them out. Last year it acquired 10 apartments at the Leftbank development in Spinningfields for £1.3m.
