Media mix: SKV launches video service; new wins for Paver and Ph Creative

MANCHESTER public relations agency SKV Communications has launched a new business that it says will make it easy for businesses to distribute videos and other digital content to media organisations.

Its Video News Agency (VNA) operates online and distributes video news reports, corporate announcements, interviews, stills, press releases and other copyright-free and royalty-free content.

SKV said it had already signed up Kellogg’s, VisitBlackpool, The Co-operative Bank, Marketing Manchester and Medecin Sans Frontieres.

Businesses pay to use the service but the rate depends on the size of bandwith. SKV said a  universal annual licence costs £695 and bandwidth packages ranging from £95 for 500MB to £995 for 30GB. A free 20MB upload is available as an introductory trial.

Daniel Kennedy, VNA operations director, said: “The VNA platform has real benefits for those already making video communication for the media – we see travel and tourism and international NGOs in particular as key early markets.

“Costs of this type of platform have been prohibitive for most until now, as competitors offer a high-end premium product.”
