In Brief: Robbies’ new look; Ryanair adds Stuttgart & more

ROBINSONS – the family-owned Stockport brewer and pub company – has unveiled a new look.

It is embarking on a  company-wide rebrand beginning with a new logo design by Truth Creative;  the Manchester design agency.

The brand revamp comes as Robinsons prepares for a major pub investment, which includes fresh pub signage throughout the estate and the introduction of new pump clips, bottle labels, merchandise and literature, together with a revamped corporate website.

Oliver Robinson, joint managing director (beer division) of Robinsons said: “We have a wonderful tradition of strong brand identity that stems over the last 176 plus years. As custodians of our family business we have reached a point to move forward with its development and in doing so take a tighter control of our image, how we portray ourselves and importantly our tone of voice. Following heavy investment in our pubs, brewery and beers, we felt it was the perfect time to brew a new look and redefine our positioning.”

Darren Scott,  creative partner at Truth, said: “We have modernised, refined and simplified the brand mark to be bolder, more dynamic and future proofed. Robinsons rebranding is distinctive without detracting from the Unicorn motif; which has formed the backbone of their respected lineage and represents all the company stands for as an independent family brewer. “

LANCASHIRE company Clean Air Power says it is making progress with US environmental regulators for approval on one of its products.

CAP’s US Genesis-EDGE product has met US2010-compliant emission levels required by the Environmental Protection Agency. Meeting the emission standards is the final stage of the testing process and is expected to lead to a formal certification by the EPA in coming months.

Chief executive John Pettitt said: “A number of technical developments still need to be completed before we can launch the product commercially, but on completion of this important milestone, we can look forward with greater confidence to bringing the technology to the US market as rapidly as possible following formal EPA certification.”
