Roxtec seals deal with daylight systems maker

CABLE and pipe seal specialist Roxtec has designed and tested tailor-made fire collars for a manufacturer of natural light systems which maximise daylight into buildings.

The firm, with its UK arm based in Bury, worked in partnership with Solatube Daylighting Systems to customise and test large-sized fire collars for light conduits – special aluminium tubes which put light into buildings.

Construction and power manager of Roxtec Gavin Cornall said Roxtec was selected because itcould provide large-sized fire collar seals which fit around the lighting tubes along with the required testing.

 “The light conduits are good examples of green technology, providing environmentally-friendly lighting in a variety of buildings,” he said.

“They help customers reduce their energy consumption, costs and carbon footprint while people inside the buildings get the benefits of natural daylight.”
