Snuggledown cosy after £1.2m investment

BEDDING manufacturer Snuggledown has officially unveiled its new-look factory following the completion of major refurbishment and an investment of £1.2m.

The improved Wigan factory site was opened by Mayor Councillor Phyll Cullen. The factory now boasts a 17,000 sq ft warehouse and state-of-the-art product showroom, which will be used to showcase the company’s high quality bedding products to leading UK retailers.

Managing director of Snuggledown David Cruddos, said: “The opening of the new factory building is a tremendously exciting day for us, and one which we are pleased to be able to share with the Wigan community.

“The town has a strong manufacturing heritage, which we’re proud to be a part of. These renovations will increase capacity in our warehousing facilities and comfortably accommodate staff as our business continues to grow. It’s great news for us and for Wigan.”

The expansion of the factory will support the company’s ambitious growth plans and enable it to meet increased sales forecasts for 2015.

Mayor, Councillor Phyll Cullen, said: “Snuggledown is a business on the rise, and recognised as a key employer for Wigan and the surrounding area.”
