Headhunter Oliver James in Big Apple move

FINANCIAL services recruiter Oliver James Associates is heading for the Big Apple.
The independent Manchester company, which counts the likes of Accenture, Aviva, Deloitte, Goldman Sachs and RSA, among its clients, is to open a base in New York City by this autumn.
Although not its first international office – the firm already has a presence in Hong Kong and Amsterdam – New York will be its first step into the US.
The new operation is part of an international expansion drive which will see further international office openings over the next three years.
The New York team will initially specialise in actuarial recruitment which is Oliver James’ most established, successful and largest segment of business, and is where the company has long-standing relationships with many of the insurance and financial services businesses they are looking to partner with in the US.
A team of four existing actuarial specialists from their UK offices will be relocating to New York to run the office, with future appointments likely to come from local New York-based talent.
Oliver Castle, co-founder and director of strategic development said: “Opening a New York office has long been part of our international expansion plan and we are excited to be bringing our specialist knowledge and expertise to a new continent.”
