Appointments: Matthews & Goodman; Mills & Reeve; NES Global Talent & more

NATIONAL commercial property advisers Matthews & Goodman has bolstered its northern management team with two new senior appointments.
Tim Austin and Chris Hughes join the firm from Lambert Smith Hampton as head of management and senior associate respectively.
They join an eight-strong team, based across Matthews & Goodman’s Manchester and Liverpool city centre offices.
Austin has more than 15 years’ extensive experience in property and asset management consultancy, working for a range of clients in the private and public sector. He specialises in lease advisory, agency, rent reviews, and re-gear opportunities.
The appointments reflect an increase in management activity over the past 12 months and support the firm’s ambitious plans for 2015 – the year which sees Matthews & Goodman celebrate its 150th anniversary.

LAW firm Mills & Reeve has appointed Keith Davidson as head of environmental law. He will be based in the firm’s Manchester office.
Davidson, who was previously a partner at Pannone before heading the environmental law team at LexisNexis in London, said: “It’s an exciting time to be with Mills & Reeve in Manchester which has ambitious plans.”
Niall Innes, head of the Manchester office, said: “We are always looking to strengthen our existing team with the appointment of leading lawyers across a number of disciplines and the appointment of Keith, who has a national reputation, reflects our growth aspirations in Manchester.”

NES Global Talent is expanding its UK IT division with the appointment of sector specialist Peter Staniland at its office in Altrincham.
Staniland will focus on recruitment of IT experts within the oil and gas and engineering sectors.
“Despite the recent downturn in the oil price, IT remains an essential cog in the oil and gas production wheel. NES Global Talent is a world leader in oil and gas recruitment and we are working closely with the engineering team to build a strong international platform for IT,” he said.

MACCLESFIELD-based cloud computing firm Axon has underlined recent success by appointing appointment Rob Hill as helpdesk analyst and Peter Beesley as systems developer.
The recruitment of the duo takes the staffing level at the company to 21.
Hill is a computer science graduate and joins Axon from Bet365 and Beesley is a games design graduate from the University of Bolton.
