Appointments: Lloyds; Barburrito; DAC Beachcroft & more

LLOYDS Bank Commercial has appointed Steve Harris as its regional managing director of mid markets banking in the North.
Harris assumes responsibility for an 80-strong strong team operating from commercial banking centres in Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Sheffield and Newcastle, that provide banking services, strategic advice, and funding solutions to businesses with a turnover of between £25m and £750m.
He brings more than 25 years banking experience to the role and was previously area director of the bank’s mid markets division in North, East and South Yorkshire. He joined Lloyds Bank three years ago from RBS and replaces replaces Mark Burton who has moved to a role in London.

MANCHESTER-based food business Barburrito has boosted its senior team, with the appointment of Jim Bishop as head of property.
Bishop brings extensive acquisition and development experience, with previous spells at Scottish & Newcastle, Barracuda, and Sainsbury’s. His primary focus will be new store acquisition but he will also oversee the broader property function.
Barburrito operates 11 stores across five cities and plans to grow the business to over 20 stores in the next two years. New stores will target high footfall locations including major city centres, shopping centres and travel hubs.

NOLAN Redshaw, the chartered surveying firm, has hired Jonathan Pickles as a senior agency surveyor.
He joins the Bury firm from Lancashire-based Petty’s Chartered Surveyors where he worked in the commercial agency department dealing with a wide spectrum of property and gaining some impressive deal successes.
Director Paul Nolan said: ‘’Jonathan is an experienced agent and will strengthen our agency department which is seeing a significant increase in transactions. There is increased positivity in the marketplace and with rents beginning to rise I am hopeful that speculative development will soon flourish again around the M60.”

LAW firm DAC Beachcroft has appointed planning expert Simon Kelly in its Manchester office.
Kelly joins from the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC), where he has been a legal advisor to the planning committee since April 2013.
He will work as part of DAC Beachcroft’s planning and environment team, which operates from Manchester, Bristol and London, acting for developers, landowners and local authorities.
DAC Beachcroft head of planning, Anita Rivera, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Simon to the team. For us to be able to bring in someone of his calibre and first-rate experience at the cutting edge of planning policy will be an enormous asset both to our lawyers and to our clients.”

ACCOUNTANTS and business advisers Hurst has boosted its marketing team with the appointment of Claire Briars.
Briars, 37, who lives in Warrington, has a post-graduate diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a degree in retail marketing. Before joining the Stockport and Manchester-based firm, she worked at BT in a variety of senior marketing roles.
In her new role she is responsible for all marketing communications and events at the firm, which has more than 400 clients across the region.
